Default New Food Plot Pics

This is my first attempt at growing a food plot. I was not sure what to grow so I used Imperial Whitetail Chicory Plus. It is a mix of Clover and Chicory. We planted March 3rd. It didn't look very good until the last 2 weeks and it has really taken off now. I fertilized and limed prior to planting. The rain has been pretty good to us although we are technically still in a drought. I am very satisfied so far and there are deer tracks all through it.

Actually I planted it 2 or 3 days late according to the map on the back of the package, but that is just a guide and weather varies slightly.

It looks sexy now! Congrats on your first attempt, however, I feel that I should warn you...... foodplot planting can become yet another addictive aspect of the sport. We look forward to planting and maintaining our plots every year. It seems every season we want to have more plots and experiement with more blends. lol!

Good luck and good huntin'

Ya, I know what you mean, it is really coming in thick now. I went down there this morning to hang some trail cams andI saw my first buck of the year right in the middle of it. Hopefully I will get some pictures soon. This property is not known for big bucks but last year we let several small ones walk and caught one good one on the cam.
