Been building my own feeders for a while now, I built these 2 a couple of months ago. They hold appx 600 lbs of corneach. They are set to feed 3 times a day.

I use a metal 55 gal drum and cut two {1 one each side of barrel} openings around 1 inch from bottom starting at that point cut up 1 inch and then over 3 inches and back down. Then I bend the flap down so it controls the amount of feed that comes out and the turkeys and deer seem to love it.Get a barrel with a lid then just open to fill will hold 250-300 lbs corn.

i like to use 4 inch pvc pipe, about 4 to 5 feet long. at bottom, i cut a
feeder hole, the top i cap off with a 4 inch cap, to keep food dry. you
can build a troth around it for food to be caught or simply drive the pipe in
the ground about a foot, then cut a feeder hole in the bottom level with the ground so not to let out so much food. fill it up, cap it off and let the
broadheads fly!

Well I believe the more natural it looks, the better. The deer dont care what it looks like as long as it's spitting out food. These 2 methods I use are for the purpose of hiding it from others-

A.) A straight piece of PVC pipe. Get some Twine and tie it to a tree. Fill corn. Get your deer fat. See example :

B.) Put the redneck move on it. Take a bag of corn ( your preferred size), cut it open, and sling it all over the place. Deer will find it as seen here:

Hope this helps!

I hear ya on that one. You can always count on the coons taking their share from it. They even eat my mineral block!

Also I forgot to mention another thing I do if I'm on land with other people and trying to be a bit more stealth about it. Take a dark brown chocolate milk jug and fill it with corn. Then knock a small hole in the bottom and tie the handle to a tree. It will keep deer busy trying to work corn out of there and you don't have to fill it every week.

easy to make feeder. get a 55 gallon drum, three 3"channels cut 8" long, and three 1"x2" tubes to what ever length you want. i use 6'. clamp your channels to the tubes and drilltwo holes for a 1/2" bolt. now weld a nut on the inside of your channels and weld the channels to your drum making it a tripod. now you can stick your tubes in your reciever hitch and bent it to a suitable angle. now when your ready to put it up lay the drum on its side and bolt the legs to it and stand it up
