Default Need to cultivate barren land

I bought land that has recently been quarried and covered. Does anyone have any idea of what to plant or add to the soil . There are a lot of bluestone pieces and bits through out the whole field> Will apple trees grow there?
Any advise would be appreciated

Default RE: Need to cultivate barren land

get the soil tested first thing, see what is lacking, crown vetch will usually grow anywhere , even on the side of a hill....
