Round up?? How long to Wait??

Anyone know how long to wait after spraying round up before it is safe to plant clovers, and oats? Thanks for any replies, Gabe

Most seeds have instructions on the bag explaining this. I think most instructions say one week??? If you are planting something like Imperial or Buck Forage Oats etc. you can research them on the internet and probably find your answers there.

Monsanto - the makers of Roundup -recommends 1 week.

Not sure why Monsanto would say one week. Round-up kills by being takenup by the active growing part of the plant (leaves). You could soak the seeds in round up and it wouldn't hurt them. Spray, let it dry,and plant has worked for me.

I think one week is said by Monsanto -
"in general"

Because plants in a drought - that are not actively growing well - may take that long to appear to wiher. Remember - round up only works on actively growing plants - dormant plans are almost immune - they are covering their bases with the 1weekstatement.

I usually try to wait about an hour, this gives the roundup an opportunity to dry on the target plant, then sow my seed.
