RE: will deer eat horse feed, oats
My brother has an old barn he shuts calves up to wean and he feeds them sweet feed, similar to horse feed. The deer will crawl through a hole under the gate and go in and eat the sweet feed with the calves. You can drive up quietly and it sounds like a small tornado when they start hitting the way out.

RE: will deer eat horse feed, oats
A feed store in town sells their own little mixture of salt, oats, crushed corn,(and a few more ingredients that i can't remember) in certain proportions as deer feed. just dump some in any area you want, and supposedly the deer just love it, but i've never tried.
I don't think that there would be a livestock feed that deer would turn from. they'd probably eat hamster food if there was some around Edited by - gasser on 09/13/2002 18:23:08 |
