Default Novice Hunter Question: Laws about amount of camo / blaze

Hello there, as a newbie I've read your posts and value your opinions.
I just got a Hardwoods Seclusion coverall, but I know you have to wear a certain amount of blaze orange for safety. Would a seclusion blaze vest be ok, or is that too much black and not enough orange? What about a simillar hat? I have a full orange vest, but was thinking that any bit of camo would be an edge.
I'll be in Penn. & Upstate NY if that helpls.
Thakns kindly,
EB

i would have to say that the more orange the better. so i would go with the regular full blaze and the hat as well. but thats just my thinking.

As different states have different requiremants, the first thing is to read exactly what they are. Here it states 500 sq. inches solid blaze orange, no camo patterns. Just so that it is visible, I have a vest with that much blaze. I wear camo gloves & hat as these parts are the ones that get the most movement and deer can really zero in on that movement.

Several years ago I bought one of those blaze orange/camo coverall suits that you can see for a mile through the woods. Not legal unless you have on a solid orange cap at the same time.

Straight from the Pa regs. 250 square inches of orange visible 360 degrees. Orange must be visible on head, back and chest.

But you must read your regulations to be sure to comply with the laws. Not just on this basic fact that you should have known but all the laws!! Period
