Default Took a buck this evening

I took a brief hiatis from elk hunting this week to pursue whitetails. This evening was my second trip out this year. (I rarely hunt whitetails) Slipped to the top of a ridge and pulled out my rattleing bag, just bought it at the gas station on the way to the woods. So I start rattleing and within 2 minutes here comes a buck sneaking in and looking all over. I shot him with 180 grain Hornady light mag from my 30.06, dropped instantly. Drug him 1 1/2 miles I think, and still have another 1/2 mile to go in the morning. Hopefully, he will be good eatin. 3x3 with absolutely no brow tines, not even a bump. Spread is well beyond the ears but with little hiegth or mass.

way to go man, i killed a 6 point 3x3 a few years back, the place i'm hunting has an 8point 16" rule, well this 6 pointer walked out and had 10-11" uh g2-g1's or whatever they were with no brow tines, though i was going to have to pay the club fine but everybody else agreed they would have also taken him, he had a 20" spread and no brow tines

Thanks guys. Yes I got pictures, havn't a clue how to post them though. Got the buck out this morning 20" spread. He will make for good eatin'. Hitting the elk woods in the morning, I'm going stickly for meat now, seven days of season left. I'm sold on that rattleing, it sure worked for me.
