I know quite a few people that use grunts/calls during firearm season. Is it too late in the season to use them, or what?

Here in Iowa, our shotgun season starts the 1st weekend in Dec. I know hunters that hunt just like bow hunting with tubes, lures, and scents. Trying to fool the bucks into late season rut.

I know a lot of people who use them during bow season not to call in deer but after they see one if its walking or running they will grunt to make it stop and then they have a better shot on it. Im sure they would work in the same way during gun season but its not as much of a problem shooting at a moving target.
