Default Does deer scent go bad with age?

I am getting ready to start using some tinks deer scent to draw in some bucks. I have some I used last season, along with several pads I also used last season.

I was wondering if I need to buy new scent or replace the pads this season, or if I can just reuse the stuff from last season. Thanks,

Rick C.

Natural pee degrades with age ,
synthetic pee doesn't .

Trail's End is natural base , yes it will degrade . You can slow it down with refridgeration though .

The best way to find out if it's still good is by tasting it.[8D]

This particular test is limited to upstate New Yorkers though , they're the only ones who can tell you what deer pee tastes like ... j/k Charlie !

I believe that tink's states on the back of the package that it will keep for next year if stored in a cool dark place.

I tried a product from Hoyes Outdoors called scent ammo. It was featured in one of the Bow Hunting mags a couple of years ago and wouldn't you know Wally Worlrd(Walmart) had it on the discount rack at the end of the season. I bought several packages and just finished using it for the first time. It takes the ammonia out of the scent. It really changed the smell and I really think it smell a lot more natural now. They include a PH strip to tell you when its back to normal. You keep it in the container provided and it keeps the ammonia level down. I have never had a lot of luck with scents in the past and don't expect big things now.

My pessimistic side wonders if it is that great of an idea why don"™t the scent makers buy the product and include it with their scent!
