Default WHATS THE ACTIVITY IN OHIO??

Had this post in the midwest forum, would like to start an activity chart for us "OHIOAN BUCKEYES" we are ranked like 8th in the top 10 states to score a record buck, and would like to see what is going on with everyone who hunts ohio. I hunt highland and brown county, but the activity has been minimal, sunday was a good day seen 5 deer, but i should have seen like a hundred already. Please post your activity on what you see, and how your season is going thus far, thanks. Mike

Up near mount vernon, I have been watching a few bucks chasing does this week around a 5 acre trefoil field. I am just speculating that they have started chasing some since in 2 days this week I have seen 3 times as many deer, mostly bucks, hit on the roads around millersburg and mount vernon

Well i know the rut is getting underway in highland county, my uncle had some trees planted and a buck had rubbed and broke them in half, and we found two scrapes along the wood line of the clover field. I havent seen any rubs or scrapes yet in brown county. What other counties do we have hunting??

Just west of you Turkey Fan, in Clermont County. Activity has been real slow around here as well. We actually have a nuissance permit with 10 tags on our farm because of crop damage. It's usually nothing to see 15 to 20 deer in a day but I think the most we've seen so far this season is 3 or 4.

However, I have been seeing a few small bucks moving around lately & I've spotted several fresh scrapes showing up so hopefully it's just around the corner.

I hunt in Tuscarawas County and have seen a lot of deer. I have already killed one deer that was a doe and, my dad has killed two does. The most deer I have seen in one day out hunting is 14! My dad and I have our eye on a couple bucks that rome our property. He has his eye on a non-typical that will score a whole lot of points. I can't tell you how much because we have not seen him yet this year. Last year he scored over 200 points!!! It's hard to believe but it's true. Ohio bucks can get really big. I filmed this buck last year and he was a typical that would score in between 170-190 (Give or take)
We are looking forward to the full rut and we have already seen several bucks. Best of luck to all Ohio hunters and to every other hunter!! Have a good, fun, safe season. I will keep you all updated on the deer my dad and I shoot!!!!
