Deer do a small snort when they are forging on acorns, i thought one was smelling me all last year, until i looked down and he was just munching away snorting, i guess he was blowing leaves and dirt out of the way, so keep an ear out for that kind of snort as well!!

I once saw a doe snort at my cat. My idiot cat was actually stalking a doe and her two fawns in my back yard. The doe snorted and did a kinda bunny hop to one side. When the cat wouldn't leave them alone the doe finally got tired of it and stomped on my cat! I had to run out my slider and yell at her or the dopey cat would have used up all nine lives! She snorted at him 6 or 7 times before she stoped his ass!
