the truth on sardines?

Hello All,

I bow hunt in northern WI, and have heard of hunters putting an open can of sardines w/in bow range.

I read the three posts that were in this forum - and none really said either way if anyone has had success with this.

Does anyone have any opinion on this? Good or Bad?

Thanks in advance,
roml

Next time I go out I will let you know cause I love sardines and I will open a can when I get hungry and see what happens.

I've never heard of that , but it would probably be considered baiting (illegal) here .

Some human vegetarians eat fish , but I doubt that deer will . Maybe it serves as a curiosity lure ?

Welcome Rolm! I've never heard of such a practice. I can see how it might work as a curiosity scent. It should also work for bears as that's how a lot of people start their bear baits here in Maine.
