acorns are coming down now here in massachusetts. is this good or bad? ones that are down now do not have much of a nut on them. and there are quite a few of them down. hoping its not a bad year for them weather wise. i personally think its way to early for them to be coming down.

If there are a lot of nuts on the tree, it could be shedding itself of excess acorns it can't sustain. The rest should ripen normally.

Not seeing acorns on the trees here in Michigan this year at all. I believe it is early for them to be falling.

I have the same thing going on with hickory nuts, not just one tree but all of them. The opened nuts I have did are empty no meat inside.

Seems a little early for it but not sure how your weather has been this season. Call a states biologist and ask them is the most accurate answer I can give.

went out again this morning alot of acorns dropping n the deer are hitting them hard!! not much of a nut but the nut inside is good. cracked a few open!!
