Talking 5 year project

Went to a fellow sports mans club members house a couple days ago. He takes me down to his man cave to check out a problem he was having with his shot shell reloader.
His 17 year old son was in the room watching a deer hunting video, you know the ones by the so called experts.

I started laughing at some of the comments the so called expert was making.
I told the kid he would do better if he spent his time outdoors in the woods where the deer were. That expert was hunting a high fence operation. He could shoot a monster every day for a week that way.

Pick a spot just one spot on the map any state in an area where deer hunting is legal and tell that expert to harvest one of those monster bucks every year for just 5 years and he would be lucky to harvest 2 in 5 years if he wasn't at a high fence operation.

The county where my deer camp is has held the record for the biggest bucks killed in Michigan till about 25 years ago. Now the very bottom counties of Michigan has that record with the much milder winters, farm crops and small wood lots.
Even there one hunter is hard pressed to harvest a monster buck in 5 years.

High fence hunts aren't for me. About as interesting as heading to the hen house with a hatchet. I would like to take these great white hunters up into the mountains with the grizz etc. and have them find one of these hand fed pets. Thing that gets my goat, is that people are stupid enough to pay mega $$$ for this.

Yup they spend all those dollars for those video's and should be spending time afield instead.
Just read some of the post here and you know a answer given to a question that comes right from a great white hunter on a fenced hunting pasture.
