I've only hunted Ill once. How is the late season (JAN) archery hunting? Shawnee NF any tips?

Dress warm. When you are wam your more comfortable and will move less and stay longer on stand

Yep, nothing will ruin a late season hunt quicker than being cold.

There's a cold front coming in this weekend, by Sunday you could see much cooler temps there in Illinois.

I'd hunt the afternoons over food sources. If you have a chance to sit over a bean field you'll see deer toward the end of the day.
