I can remember the early ' 80s we wore blue jeans and whatever coat we had and got just as many deer then as we do now.
Now we spend alot of money on camo. Why? We just cover it up with flourescent orange anyway.

well as you know deer see in black and white and they see things broken up so if you where como its looks broken up to the deer if you wore a solid color shirt it will know somethings wrong and run

Deer don' t see colors as such but they do see contrast and can a light color (white or orange)against a dark background (trees or field). And no I do not wear blaze orange over my hunting clothes. It is not required in alberta and since the requirement was dropped several years ago accidental shootings did not increase.

While deer don' t see color, they do see shapes and patterns. Camo serves to break up your outline and help you blend in better with what' s around you. Oregon doesn' t require orange, but it' s a good idea. I would think camo with some orange worn also is still harder for deer to see than jeans and a t-shirt.

you wear camo for the same reason you buy every new fishing lure that comes along. it makes you feel better.

It also depends on what you are hunting with. A deer is not likely to notice you in blaze orange coveralls at 200 yards with a rifle unless you move at the wrong time. However when you are hunting with a bow and have to be 30 yards or less, blaze orange coveralls (or any solid color) would be a disadvantage.
As far as all the different " name brand" kinds of camoflage, close your eyes and pick one, cause it don' t make a hill of beans difference.
I wear a blaze orange vest and hat any time I am hunting public land whether or not it is a requirement. I have been sitting in brush but in sight of animals many times with blaze orange and as long as they weren' t within " spittin" distance, I have never had one spook from wearing the orange. On private land, where I know where everyone is, I wear camo.
