Default Weather in Iron Cty Wisconsin

I am hunting near Mercer, anyone have some info on what to expect. Snow or no snow?

The hunting is colder than heck. It is a whole new world from Grant co. This year seems like we won't have snow or it will be old snow from last week. Phillips got 6" but the ground wasn't froze so it melted a bunch. Should have snow in the woods on the stumps anyway.

I remember a few years ago hunting up near Grantsburg where we had waist deep snow still leftover from a storm in October and we had to use snow shoes. Without them it would have been impossible. You've never lived until you've walked on snow shoes.

I have gun hunted up there for 17 years, I definately am aware of the cold, just wanted a white stuff update. thanks for the info. Usually when I get up there Friday night it is grass and leaves, when I leave on Monday it is 4 wheel drive through 2 foot drifts. Certainly aren't the deer we used to see, but a classic deer camp still has it's nastalgia.
