Default wounded bucks antler growth?

We had a buck we had been watching since he was a 1 1/2. He was a 10 point buck at a 1 1/2, and from there til 3 1/2. One of our neighbors shot him last year in the butt he said. We found the sheds last year, and they scored 155". We got pictures of him this year. He will be 4 1/2 this year, and he only has 9 points. He still grew more mass, spread, and some tine length. He lost the g4 on his right side though. It looks like he will gross in the 160's, and net in the 150's. We were wondering though. If we were to pass him up this year do you think at 5 1/2 his rack would go back to normal? Would he grow back 10 points again? I know when they are wounded it causes the opposite side of there rack to mess up, but I didn't know if it only did it the next year. Or if it was that way for the rest of there lives? Does anyone have any input? Thanks

Thats a question that I believe can only be answered by the man upstairs.. If I saw him I would take him. anything 150 and over is too good to pass up to just see what happens in a situation like that. Just my opinion though

I wouldn't pass him up either. Even if 150 was my minimum deer, I'd take him. There is too many variables to pass up a 4 1/2 year old deer. He could get hit by a car, shot by another hunter on neighboring property, OR he could come back next year and grow a 170 class rack.

Seen them bigger then that, do you think that it can't happen. Pen raised deer get up to 200+ inches there first year. Yeah I know that is pen raised but I've seen plenty of 1.5 year old 10 pointers.
