Here is the buck I harvested in 2010 on his way back to his bedding site after rubbing the vast majority of his velvet off during the night.

Same here in Missouri.....the Bucks usually loose their velvet the last part of August and early Sept....our Bow Season starts Sept 15 and so far I've never seen or shot a Buck that was still in velvet by then!

Definitely hard to tell but I would have to agree with you, looks like the velvet is gone.

Just commented to the wife a couple days ago that the deer are shedding their summer coats and getting that brown/gray winter coat.
Walking the pup early this morning saw a buck rubbing a small maple tree so I say the last week of August they start shedding the velvet.
