Because its made to shoot bucks, it doesn't work on anything else but bucks. Geez, I thought everyone knew that.

Made for shooting rabbits. A male rabbit is called a buck, therefore buckshot....

Larger sizes of shot, large enough that they must be carefully packed into the shell rather than simply dumped or poured in, are called "buckshot."
