Iron sights to start off, and mabe a scope later.

OK,with iron sights,i would definetly wait til they got 50 yards or so,with a scope,u might push it to 100 yards.

I would opt not to use it in 357 mag. Look at the balistics and energy out to 100 yards. It just isn't there. good rule of thumb is have at least 900 ft lbs of enery to kill a deer.

This might sound crazy, but I have taken deer out 100 plus yards with a MARLIN using iron sights. You need to practice and practice and practice somemore!!! My daughters shoot 2in groups at 50 yards, but like what I said practice and practice somemore. I what to take a deer or whatever else with clean kill. Thats what has been taught to me be granddad and dad!!!
