Thanks for the reply Skeeter.

I was hoping to gain some insight, knowledge... something. LOL!

I hear many reasons and a few are: to break the shoulder, to transfer the most shock, to hit the spine, etc.

Shooting off-hand can be tough. Especially when a person is all adrenalined up, heart pounding and hair standing on end. LOL!

Yeah, on further research I confused the SST with the Amax bullet. My apologies. The SST has the interlock ring and is designed for hunting. Thanks for calling out my mistake.
