60 or 70 pound draw weight?

I am trying to set up my bow and just trying to decide which weight to put it on? It is currently set on 70 but I can only shoot it standing up. Im thinking about dropping it down to 60. Is 60lb recomended for whitetail deer?

60# is pleanty for most medium size game includeing black bear. as long as you have a good tip and arrow combination u will be fine. i wouldnt sugjest shooting over 50 yards though which isnt a problem for most bowhunters.

You must not watch Ted Nugent. He uses a 50# bow all the time.

With today's bows are efficient enough to bedeadly at reasonable poundage. A lot of guys "over-bow" themselves and struggle in unusual positions and in cold weather. 60# is plenty for anything you're likely to hunt. If you have to shoot at something at 50 yd. with a bow, youdon't need a more powerful bow, you need better camo.

Sixty pounds is more than enough for any N.American game.

I started outwith my bow being set at 63 lbs and struggling to draw it back after sitting a long time in the cold. Itwas no problem in the early season, but I never seem to tag out early :) I dropped my bow to 56 lbs and I can shoot it all day even in the harshest conditions. Its funny how much of a differenceit made. I can also hold my draw for a lot longer and my accuracy has improved some. I got a complete passthrough this year on a nice doe with no problems. Distance is not problem for me because as of yet I haven't had to take a shot past 20 yards. There might be a time when this affects me, but if it does I'll let the animal walk and hunt it another day.
