My question is if you were a trespasser, would you actually build a stand that big? I doubt it. Be a little noticable to the owner.

My guess is that was just an old weak stand they wanted to put out of service. Is is so obvious it has been there for a long time. There is not a piece of anything even resembling fresh wood and obvious peeling paint.
