Default In the market for a new deer stand

Need recommendations. There are so many options outthere, and I can't possiblyget hands on all of them. I am trying to avoid buyer's remorse by tapping into y'all's experience. Here are my requirements......
1. Solid stand - no tree stands or pop-ups
2. Big enough to accomodate me and my son(he is 2 now, but I would like a stand that will hold up well enough to see him get his first deer out of it).
3. 5 foot tower needed as well, although a 10 foot tower wouldn't hurt my feelings.
4. Want to stay under $1000 for stand and tower.

I am pretty handy, and can put windows in myself if necessary. I also would prefer a stand that I can modify to meet my needs(i.e. - shelves, etc.)

Thanks in advance for your input.

if it's going to be a permanent stand over a feeder or food plot, i'd build my own out of 2x4's, 4x4'sand plywood. if not a permanent stand, there are several manufacturers that make 2 man ladder stands that are rated to 500 pounds.

+1. Around $250-350 materials for a basic easy to build4'x4' hosue. If you want to do much 2 man hunting, a 4'x6' offers lots more room for when he gets to be 8-15 years old.(it will still be in very good shape)

4 4x4's(long as you want), 5-6sheets of osb, bunch of studs, 4-8 2x6's, and 3 rolls of asphalt roofing, or some tin andyou should be good to go! Naturally 4x6 takes more

You can get fancy with windows, if you want. Plexiglass in a track works for me and cheap.
