Default Best Seed to Plant in Bama

I am 16 and just aquired 150 acres from my Dad, and I was wondering what the best seed to plant for our greenfields would be.

I would look into Biologic or Tecamate. They are both seed companies from the south and you could get information from them on how to get the soil ph in balance before planting. I live in Bama too, so what part are you from?

I planted different seeds in this one green field that I planted. There are more deer tracks and the grass is more ate down in the place where the Biologic is planted. So I guess I will be planting the Biologic all over this spot next year. I am from Hamilton which is West from Carbon Hill, about 30 miles apart.

I live in Smiths Station, just outside of Phenix City. Anyway, just remember that getting your soil ph right is every bit as important as what your planting. And summer food plots are more benficial to the deers development, than fall food plots. Plant something nutritious for them, not just rye grass. It will take a few years of doing this before you REALLY see the results, but it will be well worth it.

Summer plots plant Lablab or iron clay peas or some of both. Fall plots plant Buck Forage Oats and overseed with clover.
