Ladder stand! Preferably a two man ladder stand, it will ease your fear a bit because it has more room.

I have never heard of Screaming Eagle stands. I checked out the site was far from impressed. I saw one big flaw on a picture of the mountign bracket, the cables on the treestand. They look they'd be pretty weak and instead of the cables being bolted on they are just going through some sort of loop?? [&:]. Im not saying these are good stands but there are some deign flaws that I think can be worked out.

Those cables are able to hold up a Voltswagon car suspended from that treestand with a come-a-long, that's almost over 4,000 lbs!!I think that they are MORE than safe for your weight!!! LOL!!

google loc on tree stands. that is a brand i have used the wind walker version and it is rock solid and light. it is small so you may want to look at the bigger platforms.
