well bucks weren't moving and the fog moved in so I thought I'd try to get the yearling doe my mom-n-law requested. I moved into the low ridges where the fog wasn't a problem and was on a rise glassing a ridge where I took a couple deer last year. I'd worked on my rifle and shooting tecnique all summer, had just rechecked my drop charts and everything was "ON".
I happened to turn around and see 3 small dots on a distant ridge, closer investigation revealed 2 mature does and a yearling. Got out the lieca lrf1200, shot the range, set my elevation dial, gave it 3/4 moa left windage, preloaded the bipod, adjusted the rear bag,put the "x" on the yearling and gave the tuned trigger on my LH rem 700 6.5 Gibbs a slight tug, just as the rifle settled back down from recoil I heard the bullet smack home, as the sight picture was retained I saw the yearling hit the ground flopping. a pic
