Pope and Young is the record of animals taken with archery equipment. Boone and Crockett records those taken with firearms.

Actually, Boone and Crockett recognizes the animal, not the hunter, nor the harvest method. So, as long as the animal was harvested legally, or even picked up or found, and meets the minimum score, it can be entered into the book. This includes archery (compound, traditional, crossbow, etc.), guns, etc. There are lots of entries that were found by folks on the side of a road, or simply walking through the woods.
There are, of course, lots of other rules in the B&C rule book about the animals it recognizes, so don't think this is all inclusive.
