I took this buck yesterday about 3:00 pm. He was chasing does by me at about 40 yds. I got him to stop for a second and let him have it. He ran about 75 yds. and piled up. As he was running away I noticed a funny looking spot on his back. It ended up being about 20" of arrow that had gone high through his back at a quartering away angle. It had gone through a vertebrae and out the other side. He didn't seem to be bothered by it.
Amazing endurance. Goood shot and nice buck! More than likely he would have gotten an infection and died over winter from that open wound. It was great you got a chance at him.
