Default Late rut in Missouri.

Is anyone else in Missouri having a late rut. Opening weekend I saw bucks who were not chasing does and I saw does that were not being chased. We had a guy kill a 8 pointer whoes glands on its hind legs were barley puting out that sent that they do when the rut. What is going on with that. Also did anyone elses morning huts suck as much as mine did because ive talked to other people and they had bad mornings as well.

I hunt around Poplar Bluff and Cape Girardeau and its been late in both those areas. Hopefully its like Doc said and the cold snap will start it up in time for bow season to kick back in.

Well opening morning of rifle season little bucks were running everywhere but before that I thought there was minimal deer rut. Hopefully this rifle season gets over quickly so I can get back out there with the Hoyt.

I have been hunting the the NW part of the state and the rut has been going strong. I have been watching the small bucks chasing since before rifle season opened, and opening day it looked like the big boys were getting into the action. I watched 2 different does Monday morning that I am sure were 'ready', so I would say it was about right for the season up here. This weekend could be tough, with most of the big bucks holed up with does. Good time to be out in the middle of the day.
