It starts for us aboutmid summerand ends when the bucks lose their head gear. Start takin pics mid summer and get the winter food sources goin for them besides the corn and bean fields they have along with mineral spots from early spring to helpwiththe antler growing season,and lots of scouting and shining time late summer and early fall. Then we kick er off around the 20th of sept whenbow opens. Hunt late season if need be and look for sheds after that. WCL

Deer coming into my treestand, a big non-typical. Setup is perfect. I draw back, take aim, and the pin settles perfectly on it's chest.....My thumb hits the release, arrow glides noiselessly toward it's target............then I woke up.....dang, another day of work *sigh*
On private land in the lower half of SC, rifle season runsAug. 15to Jan. 1. Four and a half months, no limit on bucks, about a dozen doe days, and five more 5$ doe tags available. We have a population problem.
