Default EHD in southern indiana

I personaly have not found any in my area yet but my buddy in the next county knows of over 40 found on his land and the land next to it. One was a big 8 pointer. He has a lot of small lakes in his area, could this be the reason hor his high numbers? If I have not found any by now should I still worry, due the extream heat passing and a front of cooler air comming through?

There isn't anything you can do about EHD, so worrying about it is rather pointless. We are having a bad year for it, but not so bad that it endangers the herd.

deer are dropping big time.....it is everywhere in southwest indiana.....I have confirmed dead deer found around and near the beaver lake area in dubois county.....pike county in also being hit hard.....my neighbor showed me two nice bucks that were killed by the disease.....have heard reports of upwards of 40% of the herd may be killed by the disease, not sure if there is truth to this, but when you hear farmers finding 30 dead deer in a day....it can't be good.

I doubt that the losses will be that high, by some estimates we could actually lose that many without seriously harming the hunting. The Southern tier is overpopulated that much, most of the the higher bonus antlerless counties are down here.
