its probablydue to the fact that its very hard to get land anymore, and the fact that kids arent getting involved as much

I agree, the degradation of kids wanting to go outdoors instead of playing video games. Broken families and lack of landowners allowing hunters due to lawsuits, trespassers, poachersetc.

DING DING Again!!! Anyone that has bought their kids an electronic gismo instead of taking them hunting, fishing, and campinghas contributed to the drop. Most every kid wants and needs some sort of stimulating activity. The addictive staring at a video screen for hours on end to getthat stimulationhas made getting physical activity not appealling to them. If the study is not already out, it will be soon where theblame for the out of control childhood obesity rate will be blamed on the sedentary electronic game age of child rearing. Therefore, our numbers of hunters will continue to drop asold hunters die faster than new hunters come into our ranks. Sadly, we will lose voting strength and consequently our hunting priveleges. Take a kid hunting! Yours or somebody elses!

All of the above......perhaps you DOW has a mentor program, a church group, FFA program or just kinda nose around. I've got the guy behind me
and his kids into skeet and they were just accepted into my gun club.
Trap/rifle/pistol and IDPA.I'm still looking for some one parent kiddo to
help get started. My two have grown up and are finding out that work
is getting in the way of hunting.
