Whitetail Deer HuntingGain a better understanding of the World's most popular big game animal and the techniques that will help you become a better deer hunter.
whats the least amount of land you would hunt? and why this is. For me it would be some where around 10-20 any less would be imposible to hunt I think.

Location, Location, Location!! One acre in the right spot could be awesome! But if I had to choose I would take the largest available. So I chose 80 acres.
i hunt in a little 2 acre woods of ours bordering our farm and the neighboring farm and i always see at least 1 if not 2 big bucks in that woods every year.
it only takes a few trees with some high grass or seclusive terrain and it will hold deer, I never overlook any property for big whitetails!

I chose 10 acres because that's how big the place I live on is, and I hunt it successfully.
My house is the light colored spot in center frame: 10 acre honeyhole
It's surrounded on all sides by ag fields and connecting windrows, the next nearest cover of any size is over a half mile away.

I know a guy who has a 5 acre plot and always bags a few nice deer. The trick isn't how much land you have, but how can you make them come to your land.

It all depends on the surrounding property and what the land is composed of. My main concern with a small piece is how best to access it without bumping the deer.
