I bought another Moon Guide for Deer Hunting this year,I had one 2 years ago and it was pretty accurate for predicting when deer would be moving, bedding and feeding and what area's they would be using at certain times.I still went out and hunted when ever I got the chance because no matter what the Guide stated you can't shoot a deer sitting on the couch watching Hunting Shows.

I agree with GTOHunter. I'm going regardless. But the moon dial thing was fairly accurate. We even noticed that striper fishing was pretty productive on active "deer" days.

I'm sure hunting the phases help, but I'm w/ GTO. I'm going when ever I can!! There are only so many weekends in the year to go hunting.

I have many times and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't!.........It also has to do with weather conditions for it to work!

When I have to choose one specific week I book my hunts/vacation time based on the dark of the moon. This october for example I'm going on a Muley hunt in Wyoming. I passed on the first weekand opted for the second week so that I will be there during the dark of the moon.

One more vote for going whenever you can... but I do make an extra effort to go during a new moon.

Up here in Idaho, the weather plays a vital role to seeing more game in my experience. Obviously snow is not a factor in a lot of the country, but I hunt whitetails in November and December, and things really get exciting when it is actually snowing. Seems deer are coming out of the woodwork when the snow is coming down heavy. I have noticed a little correlation between moon phases and deer activity. Kind of easy to keep track of since the information is on my GPS.
