Default Anyone drive a car??or just trucks??

I am trying to figure out how difficult it is hunting with a car....say maybe a sports sedan.

I have an F150 and the 4x4 and the bed of it really comes in handy for hunting. However I am a traveling salesman, and I have been driving a nissan car for that. I am sick of having two vehicles with the cost of insurance on each and all. I was thinking of giving up the truck but I was wondering if any of you have cars (sporty) and how it effects hunting...

Do you just strap a deer to the roof of your BMW??? How about the back roads in the snow.

Talk me out of this guys....or into it!

Until I bought my little SUV not long ago, I had a four-door sedan. Once the deer were quartered and packed into coolers (and we're talking small Texas deer), there was no problem.

As for driving in to the ranch...well, that wasn't too bad, except in a couple of spots.

Not enough trouble to make me want to spend all that extra gas money to drive a big truck the other 360 days of the year!

Sell both and get a minivan... you'll get good gas milage (25mpg) and lots of room to haul.

son lemme tell ya, a truck is just the way to roll. And here's my theory on the topic of gas mileage: What good is 30mpg when a F-250 pulls out infront of you doing 50mph. And heck my Sierra gets 19.8-20.2 actual highway mpg. When I was in highschool I actually used my '66 Mustang to go hunting in. I was severely limited however and although it might have been an interesting sight to see going down a dusty appalachian trail it was horribly impractical.

I had a geology prof who hog hunted in an AMC Gremlin. No 4wd, but he did have a winch. What did he do with the hogs? Squealers in the back, big ones on top.

I had a 4 door Dodge Stratus that I took hunting and just carried a tarp with me so I could put the deer in the truck.
