Well, I have had the deer back for awhile, but I have been working on this pedistal mount off and on for the last 2 months. After searching the net for some ideas I liked, and finding nothing I liked,I went out on my own.All I knew is I wanted the tapered effect.(big at the bottom, and smaller at the top). From there,I just added what I thought looked nice.
The sides are quartersawn Walnut veneer, the trim is solid Walnut, and the top and frames are curly Maple.Finished in a clear lacquer to bring out the grain. In one of the pictures is the only shot I got of him on trailcam, and the other is at the time of recovery with myself.
He was taken on a private farm in Thomas Co. in SW GA.Not my biggest, but my second biggest.I just wanted to do something special, for a special buck.I hunted him real hard for about a month.
I hope you enjoy the pics,
Rick
