Why is it some old folks will tie a know with the winf pipe after field dressing has been complete?

Tiethe wind pipe??? I have seen the anus tied (Done it myself as well) but never the wind pipe???

I dont recall ever seeing the windpipe tied. Anus, but not windpipe.
