Default besides horns anyway to tell mature buck

is there any way to tell a mature buck from a non mature buck besides the horns

Grey in the face, and thesquinted eyes. A mature buck usually has a distinct look about him.I rarely see this where I hunt here in Pa.[&o]Alberta, here I come!

The back will start to sag as well.

Oh, deer don't have horns...they have antlers. Horns don't fall off, antlers do. Just one of my pet peeves.

A gray face does not always mean an old deer.
Look for huge bodies, necks that just blend into the chest, sagging back and belly like already mentioned.

Usually you try to go for 3.5 year old deer and olderbut 5.5 to 6.5 year old deer is thebest as far as maturity goes.

Ditto

Older bucks will have a gray face and long snout, but I have also seen young bucks with the same features.
