Don't know what state you are in, but ***anese Honeysuckle, common blackberry briars and Sawtooth Oaks would be a good start.

Call your state's local forestry office. If your state is like mine they will come out for free and give you advice on what to plant. They will at least tell you over the phone what they recommend for your area. In my state the forestry dept. offers seed mixes and seedling trees at a very low cost. I have been looking at adding soft mast on my property. So for instance i can buy 50 apple, plum, or persimmon trees from my state forestry dept. web site for $81.00. Prices go down the more you order.

Don't forget to ask about Federal, State, Private funds that might be available to pay the costs for some or all of the work you may want to do. I have used federal funds to fence off creeks and plant hardwoods, and ducks unlimited is paying rent on wetland for 10 years to keep it out of production. Your forester or extension agent should know about these programs.

Good Luck
