When to start shed hunting?

Well I've never been out to look for sheds, and I was just wondering when you're suppose to start?

I would go ahead and start looking early spring, right after the snow has melted.

I start looking in jan and keep looking until late april.

I found the right half of a small 8 point on just last Saturday. Seems a little early wondering if he had been injured.

In my part of the country, a few sheds are falling now, but the bulk fall from mid-January through February, some in to March. I wouldn't start until into March. Give the deer a little bit of a break during the tough winter months.
