Thereis a picture of something similar at the link (about 1/2 way down). However, it seems to be on the inside, not the outside -all pics relate to hemorrhagic disease.

I believe it is caused by a virus...usually see 2 or 3 a year off our place with them...not gonna hurt ya, but I wouldn't suggest fryin it up, either!
