We've had a perfect firearms season
First of all, and most importantly, it has been safe.
Second in importance, my 11 yr. old son went hunting for the first time and took a nice doe during the Missouri youth season, and an 8 pointer this morning, during the 2nd day of the regular firearm season. We have another hunter to help preserve our heritage and future.
Third, and like dessert, the least important part but awfully fun anyway, I took a 14 point buck with a gross score of 165 3/8. Biggest ever for me!
Don't mean to brag guys. Just wanted to tell some people who would care! These days, they aren't as easy to find as we'd like.
God bless.

Congratulations to you and your son! Yesterday and today was youth weekend here in mississippi. Three of the four kids who hunted at our camp took deer, so the season is off to a great start. I only hope the adults can do as well when the rifle season kicks off next weekend.

My season so far has been a great success. my first deer (at the much to old to finally be getting into hunting age of 20, not that im too old to start rather that i would much have rathered starting earlier, such as age 11) was an 8 pint buck this morning at about 9:30.
congrats to you and your son on some very fine animals, no im wondering how my nephew did, down there in missouri during youth season? at any rate i hope all goes well for you and the rest reading this, and the future of the sport

Booches,
Congrats are definately in order! Congratulations and thank you for........
1) introducing another youngster to the great experience of hunting.
2) you get to feel the great feeling of taking part in your son's first harvest.
3) you get to see your son take a fine buck and shine some of the knowledge you graciously shared with him.
4) you got to have a little fun too-14 pointer sounds pretty nice.
I just have one question, out of these three deer-Which is Dad's favorite? Post again and let us know. I think I already know the answer!

That is great! Congrats to you and your son. It is so awsome that you could share in your sons first harvest and get to harvest susch an awsome animal yourself. I can't wait to get to introduce my son into hunting but I have a while he is only 3 months old. Oh well my day will come. Once again Congrats.
