Default opening day!

Today was opening day, also my first time hunting. 20 mins after I got into my treestand a spike crossed my stand. Had a perfect shot but I let it go. Then 20 mins after him a small doe passed. I didn't shoot her neither. I learned something from watching hunting shows and its this, you'll never shoot mature deer if you only shoot young ones. Anyway, going back out tomorrow so hopefully there will be some mature deer out there! Goodluck to everyone!

Default RE: opening day!

For a new hunter you showed good restraint letting those deer walk. Personally, I would have shot the doe (if legal) and put meat in the freezer then looked for bone to stir the soup with. To each his own. Good luck.
