Default benelli nova

I shot the benelli at the range today and with open sights and i shot 6 inch groups at 50 yards with the stock barrel and sights, rifled slugs. If the bead took up most of the 15 inch target and 50 yards and all of it at 100 would this be to big for deer hunting??Or can i shoot at about out to 75 yards??

Default RE: benelli nova

If you are comfortable hitting at 75yds routinely at the range, I'd say you'd be fine in the field. I have the Nova, but also have the rifled cantilever barrel. With a bushnell holosight, I can whack clay pidgeons set a 100 yds with sabot slugs. The barrel is $210 at Cabelas, but can probably be had cheaper elsewhere. I believe Ithaca makes a canitlever rifled barrel for the Nova. Ibought mine as a combo with bird and slug barrel new for $400 on Gunbroker (I got a great deal).
