Default Call shy

Will a buck become "call shy", like a turkey, if hesees you while you are using a grunt call?

If the buck see's you when your gunting at him , he might just look at you for a while or he might go the other way.
It's really hard to say what his reaction will be , I've tried gunting in some young bucks with no response at all.

I think worded my question wrong...What I should have asked is...
"What are the chances of grunting or rattling up the same buck twice?"

A young buck : yes ,an older buck : don't think so , they didn't get old by being fooled more than once.

Here I have watched young bucks run from a grunt call on the first try. An older buck is wiser except during the rut and yes if you have a large deer population an older buck will come back though you may need to change your location some what. Good Luck.

Last year I rattle'd in a big buck.. He was coming straight in then just before range he turn and went to the downwind side of me and BUSTED !!! Tried rattle'n and grunt'n for the next 2 weeks called up alot of young smaller bucks but never saw that big boy again.. I moved locations etc etc.. Just depends on the buck and other variables I guess like hunting pressure etc.. Plus they don't get big from been stupid..

I guess that if you're going to hunt big bucks, you have to just sit still and be quiet, and hope that the buck will come your way, otherwise, they probably run away from a grunt call.
