RE: what works in the early bow season
Only scents I use in the early season are cover scents. Call... lightly ticking rattleing antlers togather to mimic 2 bucks spareing, but not fighting. Bucks do this to establish dominance. I always have a grunt tube and a doe bleat. Tactics depends alot on the situation.... food sources and bedding areas is what matters to me in the sept muzzle loader season. I usually just hunt around the food source in theevenings. I don't get out in the morning because I don't want to spook thebuckI am hunting and have patterned in the evening. If I do hunt in the morning, its in a location back in the woods in a spot where I can go to and maybe see deer, but bascially just to be out hunting. If its hot and dry then water sources might be a hot spot.
