Default 22-250 bullet

i was wondering if anyone could recommend a factory load for a 22-250 that would but good on deer. now i know that the 22-250 is a marginal deer rifle so please dont tell me to go with a 243 or anything else. i have plenty of other big bore deer rifles. soplease dont anyone take that the wrong way. so no offense i would just like some good bullet recommendations. thanks

I read a good review on the 60 grain Nosler Partition in 22-250 for deer a while back. They said to wait for broadside shots, right behind the shoulder, and keep it under 200 yards. Seemed pretty impressive. Good luck

My buddies father uses a 22-250 for the PA woods. Shooting a 60 gr Nosler Partition pushed by h380.I personally have seen a neck shot on a 6 point that practically whipped the head back so hard the rack gouged the hide 2/3 of the way to its tail. Think it's Federal Premium that loads them. He fills his tags every year, think I'll stay with something bigger though.

Try the Federal Premium 60gr Nosler Partiton...My 15 year old niece killed 2 does in one setting last year and dropped both in their tracks...One was about 50 yards away, the other 100...Both bullets exited through both shoulders...I cleaned both...Exit wound was about the size of a quarter...

You can also buy the 60 grain trophy bonded bearclaw in a factory load. It would be a good one. If you can find factory loaded Barnes X bullets, they would be a good bet. From my expierence, the 22-250 is just as effective as the 243 for deer. I prefer the 25 caliber as the minimum but I have taken deer with the 222 and 223.

55 hollow point will not even make it to the boiler room. ZGo withat least 60gr, partition. If you must use a 22cal. Not being a dick, just wondering...if you have other big bore rifles, why use a 22-250?

I killed asmall buck with Remington 55gr PTD soft points. I think what really did the trick was the fact the bullet hit a rib and exploded. The bullet and rib fragments destroyed the heart and some of the lungs.

The deer after it was dressed, skined and the legs and head were off it was about 75 lbs. hanging.

The main reason i was even hunting with my 22-250 for deer was some blowhard said that it couldnt be done. Well to make a long story short that buck in the back of my truck shut him up.

also one other thing to add is that everyone already knows is that its more bullet placement than the size of the bullet.

Whatever, I have seen the results. BIG, BIGHOLES! As in entrance and exit.
