Default Deer Feeder Question

What type of feed does everyone put in their automatic feeeders? Has anyone one tried a product made by Purina called Deer Chow?

I've tried the deer chow before. They ate it as long as it didn't get wet. If it gets the slightest damp they will not touch it. They will eat just about anything you put in a feeder. I just use corn. Sometimes I will mix wheat in with the corn for the turkeys. Of course they will eat the corn too. Corn is the cheapest thing to put in a feeder and everything will eat it, including coyotes and foxes. Is it legal to hunt over a feeder in Wisconsin?

A better question is "Is it legal to feed deer at all in Wi. ?" I seem to recall that it isn't because of the CWD .

Old fashioned Corn works the best however not the best for providing protein.

i just use corn. i honestly havent heard of the deer chow. the problem is, i cant get the deer to feed on it.the feederhas been there since last season was over. plenty of deer sign. The turkeys are hammering the crap out of it. i know this thru game cam pointed at the feeder. seen some nice toms on the cam. they ought to be fat this spring.
